BEST Resolutions for NEW YEAR 2024

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024

And suddenly you know… it’s time to start something new and trust the magic of new beginnings. ~Meister Eckhart

NEW YEAR is celebrated all over the world with great enthusiasm and fun. It is a special day for the people as this day is the beginning of the new year and they welcome the upcoming year in their way. People start the preparations for the new year celebration many days earlier.

NEW year is a special event to have more fun and excitement for their friends and family and beloved ones. It is the time for giving and expressing true and worm wishes to be blessed in the upcoming year. It is a good time to settle all the goals and dreams which could not in the previous year.

The real New Year is when the cycle of life begins again with NEW GROWTH. That is the beginning of Spring, called the Vernal Equinox. It happens on March 20th and its the point in time when the length of both day and night is equal. You cant begin something anew in the dead of winter.

New Year is the start of new ambition, skill, energy and most importantly, the new hope for most of the people. We’ve passed the previous year which had a lot of difficulties and happiness with ease and now are ready for more challenges and satisfaction.

People like celebrating New Year’s because it gives them a sense of positivity and enthusiasm about lots of new beginnings, and a chance to celebrate making it through the whole year !!!

Sliding into a new year with a bang makes us want to live the rest of the year the way we started it— with warmth, celebrations, joy, and laughter. As the year start, it is welcomed with new hopes, new dreams, new goals, new ideas. The belief behind celebrating the new year is that if the first day of the year is celebrated with enthusiasm and happiness, then the year will be spent with the same enthusiasm and happiness.

The new year marks a new beginning and one always learns to move forward. Whatever we have learned in the old year, learning from what succeeded or failed, we should move forward with new hope. Just as we do not get sad at the end of the old year but welcome the new year with great enthusiasm and joy, in the same way, we should not be sad about the time spent in life. Instead of thinking about what has passed, welcome the opportunities that come and try to improve life through them.

On New Year celebration, we wish may you and your family have a year, that is,

  • filled with success
  • blessed with good health
  • synonymous with happiness
  • filled with challenges and experiences that make you grow

Global Variation of New Year: Controversy in TIME

The celebration of the new year on January 1st is a new phenomenon. The new year celebration is believed to have been started in Mesopotamia, c. 2000 B.C. and was celebrated around the time of the vernal equinox, in mid-March.

Starting the new year on the first of January feels counter intuitive.
We mark a fresh beginning in the dead of winter, when the days are shorter and the nights are colder. Who can make major life adjustments right now?
Bears are hibernating; nature is Asleep.

Our new year starts during a practical dead zone in the natural world.
January is no time for renewal and rejuvenation. It’s a time for hunkering down,
eating stores of food, and surviving.

Happy New Year
Roman God JANUS

January 1 isn’t the only New Year’s Day; many religious and cultural communities also observe their own calendars.

But much of the world abides by the Gregorian calendar’s solar dating system to organize civil life. And its start, on Jan. 1, is the byproduct of a political and religious history.

There’s no astronomical reason to celebrate New Year’s Day on January 1. Instead, our modern New Year’s celebration stems from the ancient, two-faced, Roman god Janus – for whom the month of January is also named. One face of Janus looked back into the past, and the other peered forward to the future.

Earlier, it was a Roman calendar which was having only 10 months and designated 1st march as the new year. In the Gregorian calendar, there are 12 months in every year and the new year falls on January 1st which is widely accepted and celebrated the festival.

As far back as human beings can remember, we have observed and respected the changing of the seasons. In the time before mechanical clocks, the supreme measure of time was our Sun. Each year, the light of the sun marked four periods of time:

  • The Vernal Equinox
  • The Summer Solstice
  • The Autumnal Equinox, and
  • The Winter Solstice

India Celebrate NEW YEAR differently

The two calendars most widely used in India Vikrama calendar followed in Western and Northern India and Nepal, and the Saka calendar which is followed in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa.

In the year 56 BCE, Vikrama Samvat era was founded by the emperor Vikramaditya of Ujjain following his victory over the Sakas. Later,Satavahana king Gautamiputra Satakarni initiated the Saka era to celebrate his victory against the Sakas in the year 78 CE.

Both the Vikrama and the Saka eras are lunisolar calendars, and feature annual cycles of twelve lunar months, each month divided into two phases: the Śukla Pakṣa and the Kṛṣṇa Pakṣa.

The Vikrama calendar begins with the month of Baiśākha (April) and Saka calendar begins with the month of Chaitra (March) and the Ugadi/Gudi Padwa festivals mark the new year.

Best Resolutions for New Year

Did you know that 80 percent of New Year’s resolutions fail?

So, to get to where you want to be, you have to start walking in that direction. Don’t see it as a sprint, but more as a marathon. How can you create a manageable and enjoyable year where, not pressure, but pleasure is leading the way? .. Take Baby Steps Toward the Life You Desire !!!

Don’t overwhelm yourself by setting too big goals or expecting things to be perfect. Instead, focus on one to three things from the below list. Once you feel comfortable with one, move into another.

Happy New Year

Remember…

Consistency beats intensity. … Let this be the year you set yourself up for success !!!

Conditions or timing will never be perfect. So, instead, ask yourself, “If I had all the love, money, time, confidence, and knowledge I desire, how would I think, act, and feel?” Step into that version of yourself.

Start focusing on what you have.
To focus toward what you currently don’t have in your life is very easy. In this meta-commercial, and hyper social society, a state of lack can often get the best of us. But, as Oprah said, “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.

So, start getting in, focusing on, and appreciating what’s currently in life.

Start using your imagination for creating.
Imagination is a powerful thing.Your imagination can either be your greatest tool in tuning dreams into reality. It can either show you the most catastrophic scenario or allow you to play, explore, and create most mesmerizing thing in your mind.

Use it to create, not destroy. Use it to stir faith, not doubt. Use it to become a force for good for yourself.

Start living in the now.
Often, we live in past or future but not in present. We’re so intense in what took place or what might happen, we ignore of what is happening. What is happening currently, make that the most important thing in your life.

Feeling, hearing, seeing, tasting, and touching; use these senses to become present.

Start being really honest with yourself.
The only way to change something is to first acknowledge what is. To look your fears, limitations, and blockages right in the eye. What glasses are you wearing? The fearful, or I-cannot-do-this pair glass?

How we experience life depends on how we choose to look at things. Count things in a way that empowers you, boost your inner believes. Losing a job can either mean a problem or a great opportunity. Turn a blunder event into a blessing, and an ending into a new beginning… Be the author of your experiences.

Start focusing on something greater than you.
Participating in something greater than yourself and being clear on why you’re doing it adds purpose. And if you don’t know what that something greater is yet, make it your mission to find out.

Start trusting that others are doing the best they can.
Trust that everyone is doing the best they can based on their experience, beliefs, and state. The person who cut you off in traffic might be in a rush to get home to a sick loved one. The zomato or Pizza-Boy who didn’t deliver food product on time might be experiencing some heartbreak on the road.

You never know what someone else is going through. So, instead of making assumptions, trust that they’re doing the best they can.

 Start trusting yourself wholeheartedly.
Just like any other relationships, the one with yourself needs to be fueled, nurtured, and taken care of. When you feel curious, intrigued, or excited about something, trust that it’s happening for a reason. When you get red flags about a person or situation, trust that it’s also happening for a reason. Just believe in your own INSTINCT

Start acting like you trust yourself fully. Behave like you’re in full connection with your inner self and always guided. The more you act like you trust and believe in yourself, the more that will actualize for you.

 Start celebrating your obstacles.
“Obstacles do not block the path, they are the path.” This idea of obstacles not standing in the way but actually being the way sounded like alien language to me.

Desires are powerful. Life is always guiding us toward what we want, but in that process, blockages and fears will be encountered so that they can be seen and resolved. So, when you’re against obstacle, push yourself to work through it. Every obstacle you face brings you one step closer to your dreams.

Start spending time with the right people.
How are the people you spend most time with? Do they give you energy or drain you? Friendships and togetherness aren’t something static; they’re always in motion. Set a high standard for yourself and choose to only spend time with people you enjoy.

Make sure to surround yourself with a gang that reflects how you want to feel and be and what you want to do and have.

Start taking 100 % responsibility for your life.
To accept and take full responsibility for all areas of your life isn’t easy. But, it’s the only way to change them.

By taking responsibility, you bring your power back home to where it belongs: to you. So no matter how difficult it might seem, claim full responsibility for your life.
