Dr Kalam: Who IGNITES India
Dr Kalam: The Missile Man
Dr Kalam sold newspapers as a child in Rameswaram to becoming the President of India, His life and contributions were nothing short of legendary. He was Not less than A SuperHuman perfect gift of Heaven to the Earth in Kaliyuga!
Some people become great by the chair they represent, few greats bring new greatness to the chair by their persona and once in trillion brings the pinnacle of it. Dr Kalam brought greatness to every position he held and marked it with significant integrity and rational contributions.
He ensured that kids know the name of the president.. not just as an answer to a general knowledge question. He was everything that Mrs. Pratibha Patil was not, as a President!!
His Death: Four years ago, his sudden demise sent the entire nation into grief but Dr Kalam continues to be an inspiration even after death not only because of his infinite contribution in the field of aeronautics and defense , which earned him the title of “missile man” but also for being India’s first people’s president. He became the president in 2002 and served till 2007. The then Prime minister of India Atal Bihari vajpayee solely requested him to beautify the post of supreme of India. And the rest is known to the world, the post which got his affinity started to glow shiner than ever before.
Grand life of Dr Kalam
His beliefs, his vision, his thoughts and his actions, all define the word – ‘INDIAN’
Kalam was Truly secular at heart, when he was President of India, he had stopped the annual iftar party at Rashtrapati Bhavan organised with public funds, the only religion-based dinner hosted by the country’s highest constitutional authority. Kalam directed that the funds that would have been spent on the iftar be donated to orphanages.
He was a Muslim who could quote Sanskrit and give a learned speech on the applications of that ancient language in cryptology. He recalled the temples that formed a part of his childhood landscape. He could lectures on ancient Hindu scriptures and talk with passion about the social benefits of modern science.
He could play the Veena. He would prescribe practical solutions to everyday problems. He could do all these because they came naturally to him. They were not political statements or designed to impress.
A great Muslim died on an auspicious day of Hindus in a Christian city. He maintained Secularism and Democracy in death also.
